THE POWER OF THE NEW COVENANT
(A Message by Pastor Dahunsi Olawole)

We looked at what the blood of Jesus does; particularly for a person, the power and the efficacy of that blood, the pleading of the blood of Jesus (we discussed that, pleading the blood of Jesus is not begging but putting into action what Jesus has done for you at the cross of Calvary. When you plead the blood of Jesus, you automatically wear that clothe of the blood of Jesus and when you also plead that blood, you are showing Satan the evidence why he cannot punish or afflict you again) and we went further to say that the blood of Jesus became a new covenant between I, you and God. The covenant before was that when you break the law, you will bring a goat or a ram to atone for your sin(s) and every year the high priest have to ensure that the sacrifice is done and when that is done, he will sprinkle the blood on the altar of the tabernacle as well as on the people in the church but when Jesus Christ came, He eradicated that covenant by shedding His blood at Calvary. That is why we will be looking at ‘the power of the new covenant.
I pray for you today, every threat of the enemy over your life is canceled in Jesus name….

TEXT: Matthew 26:28
“For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins”
Hebrews 8:10-12
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: [11] And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. [12] For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more”
From the passages above, we have seen that God said He will not remember our sins anymore. That is the power of the new covenant. That is the promise of God as found in Jeremiah chapter 31-34. From the passages above there are some ingredients that we can see in that covenant which are different from the old covenant.
Let us look at the ingredients that are in the new covenant according to Hebrews 8:10-12 “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: [11] And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
[12] For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” and Colossians 2:14-15 “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; [15] And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

1.      You will have peace with God.
2.      Forgiveness of sins: God will take away our sins and remember them no more.
3.      There will be an intimate relationship between you and God: you can call Him your father and He will answer you unlike before that you need goat or ram before you can even assess Him.
4.      There will be increase in godly lifestyle from the people of God.
5.      It brings sanctification
Pray like this: blood of Jesus sanctify me by your power, in the name of Jesus
6.      There will be inner joy: 2 Corinthians 5:15-16 “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. [16] wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know us him no more.”
7.      There will be an end to every sacrifice for atonement of every man’s sins because Jesus Christ gave himself as the lamb for the sacrifice.
8.      There is renewed and clean heart.
9.      All bondages, yokes and afflictions are taken away by the blood of Jesus: there is nothing the blood of Jesus cannot renew or cleans.

How then do we enjoy the New Covenant?
Break away from your old ways: all those ungodly lifestyle, you must jettison them, meaning that you drop or throw away all ungodly lifestyle into the sea of life. Stay away from all unrighteousness according to Psalms 24:3-4 “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? [4 ] He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully”
Psalms 15:1-3 “LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? [2] He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. [3] He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. ” Anyone who wants to enjoy the new covenant must run away from the life of sin.
Close your eyes and begin to talk to God to show you mercy and take away all unrighteousness in you by the blood of Jesus…

Pray these prayers:
1.      Power in the blood of Jesus; arise, fight for me and my family in the name of Jesus.
2.      Blood of Jesus, repair all that the enemy has spoilt in my life in Jesus name.
3.      I become what God says I will be by the power in the blood of Jesus
4.      By the power in the blood of Jesus, everything that belongs to me in the remaining part of this year, I possess them in Jesus name.
5.      Every evil and satanic weapon assigned to fight me in the remaining part of this year; by the power in the blood of Jesus, die.

6.      By the power in the blood of Jesus; every evil going on in my life, blood of Jesus swallow them in the mighty name of Jesus.
